New Season Finances Letter

Dear Member
The club is looking forward to the new season and hope that you will have enjoyed your rest (however brief) and are looking forward to it too. Over the summer break the club held its AGM where the plans for the new season were discussed and are now being implemented.
At the AGM it became clear, that as suspected, we had suffered a substantial loss due largely to the expansion of the club, increased costs of facilities and a shortfall in fundraising. As you may know it is the clubs policy to make football as accessible as possible to all, and as a result subsidize all activities and club wear to large extent.
Planning ahead, the decision has been taken reluctantly, to increase fees for the first time in 9 years and to dramatically increase fundraising activities. Therefore, we will be holding a range of activities such as sponsored runs and race nights over the coming months to supplement income.
Weekly fees have been reviewed and increased slightly. All fees are to be paid at training sessions on a weekly basis. Fees for adult players are no longer dependent on participation in matches. Details are as below.

Child Players - £3 per week
Adult Female Players - £3 per week
Adult Male Players - £4 per week

This increase represents an increase of only £1 per player, per week and still offers excellent value. In addition adult players will be required to sell a minimum of £5 per week of the club lottery.
In addition, league fees for the new season have risen dramatically and a new registration process is now in place, which also unfortunately comes at an additional cost. Therefore, the club has decided to subsidize this outlay with the following system. All players will pay a one-off club registration fee which will cover league registration and provide all players with club training wear included in the cost below.

Child Players - £5 Registration fee (includes 1 x T-shirt + 1 x Training Top)
Adult Players - £10 Registration fee (includes 1 x T-shirt + 1 x Training Top)

Again this extra cost has been minimised and still offers excellent value.
The key to financial success this year will however be successful fundraising which allows weekly costs to be subsidized and activities such as coach education to be paid for, and improved training facilities to be obtained, improving the level of coaching available.
In order to attain this, we need the support of all parents and guardians of our child players, by encouraging the children to get donations for sponsored events and by attending fundraising nights such as race nights. To date the children’s football at the NGFDG has been largely funded by the efforts of the adult team players and if the club is to improve its financial position the support of parents is a necessity.
We thank you for your appreciation and continued support.

Best Regards
Yours in Sport
