After a morale boosting win last time out NKU went out looking to avenge last weeks defeat by Deanpark. NKU started with a purpose and had the best of the opening 15 minutes and a cross from Brophy was palmed into the Deanpark net by there keeper.
NKU then went to ahead before the break when Finlay outpaced the Deanpark back line and slotted home with ease. At this point NKU where in total control and should have added at least one more before the break but it was not to be.
Deanpark came out fighting in the 2nd half and when keeper Smith couldn’t deal with a back pass from Kay it allowed the Deanpark striker to slide into the empty net. NKU then piled on the pressure for a 3rd to try and kill the game eventually the goal came when a Kelly free kick was glanced home by Gilfillan.
NKU had more than enough chances to finish off Deanpark but once again a few chances went a begging. Deanpark made a game of it when snatched a 2nd goal but thankfully NKU held out for three vital points
