NKU v Hamilton Wanderers 20/03/10
GDSML League
North Kelvin United 2 - 1 Hamilton Wanderers AFC
John Paul Academy
10.00 KO

NKU continued there good form of late with a deserved victory over a Hamilton Wanderers side who themselves where on decent run of form. NKU started the game strongly and completed dominated the first 25 minutes without creating too many clear cut chances.
Then against the run of play the Hamilton No 8 scored a wonder goal when he beat a few players and fired an unstoppable shot into Luscombe’s top right hand corner. NKU were initially stunned by the goal but before the half finished good work from Finlay put Kay through and he placed a left foot shot into the bottom corner.
The second half was a more even half with both sides creating chances. A great save by Luscombe kept the scores level and after that NKU took the lead when a Finlay shot ended up being put into his own net by the Hamilton defender. Hamilton then threw everything at the NKU but the defence held firm and a Kay thunderbolt almost increased the lead but the Hamilton keeper superbly turned it over the crossbar. NKU held out for the remaining few minutes to notch up a well deserved 3 points.
This was another good performance from NKU especially in the 1st half when the football was great to watch at times. It seemed like the team eased off in the 2nd half but still held off a strong effort by a decent Hamilton side. This keeps the unbeaten run going so this bodes well for the up and coming games.
