Councillors visit training session
30 young players and coaches from the North Kelvin United 97s and 98s teams were visited on Monday the 22nd March at team training by a delegation of Councillors and Good Relationship Managers from 3 different councils in Northern Ireland. This delegation was keen to see for themselves the good practice of the NGFDG in action as young players from different religious and ethnic backgrounds play together as team mates and take part in anti sectarian workshops.

The NGFDG has worked in partnership with Sense over Sectarianism since 2006 and has an excellent track record in promoting oportunity and inclusion for all across all 8 NKU teams and at the many NGFDG community coaching venues. The delegates took the time to ask the young people about their experiences and in turn the young players asked several of their own questions.

This was a positive experience for both parties and hopefully beneficial going forward in the battle against sectarianism both in Scotland and across the water in Northern Ireland.
