North Glasgow 5k Fun Run (EVENT REVIEW)
Click

NGFDG coaches attended the NG5k 2008 event which, in its 3rd year, proved
a huge success attracting an estimated 2500 participants. NGFDG provided a
'Beat the Goalie' competition which was extremely popular with the kids (and
big kids!). We also had a stall to distribute flyers and newsletter showcasing
what we offer the local community. After approching many of the event attendees
we were encouraged by the response we received and hope to strengthen our
kids' teams as well as our ladies team. Thanks to everyone who made the day
very successful and we look forward to working with you in the future.

North Glasgow 5k Fun Run
NG5k
is all about promoting physical activity and a healthier lifestyle for residents
living and working in North Glasgow as well as offering a great fun day out.
What makes the NG5k unique is that it is one of only a few running events
in Glasgow that is truly open to all where people of all ages and all levels
of fitness or ability can take part.
NGFDG coaches will be representing our club with the aim of showcasing what
we provide for the community and deliver information to interested parties.
Nearly
2000 fun runners took to the streets of North Glasgow last April in what turned
out to be the biggest NG5k yet! Friends, families, neighbours & work colleagues
came together on the day to cheer each other on with much laughter along the
way. Back for its third year, ng5k returns for 2008 and promises to be bigger
than ever!
We
hope to see you there

Crossland
AFC and NKU coaches took part in a hugely successful community event held
at Cedar Street in March. The coaches held two half hour coaching sessions
and set up a stand distributing newsletters and fliers aimed at attracting
new players to our teams and highlighting what we offer to the local community.
We had a fantastic response from the attendees and event organisers and look
forward to working with them in the future

Launch
0f 1998 Age Group Team
Following the success and development of The NGFDG and the setting up of the
two football teams for children to play in Strathclyde Youth Club Association
on a Sunday mornings at the 1996 and 1997 age groups we have decided to start
a team for children in the 1998 age group.
The League fixtures will commence in January 2007. Further information will be provided nearer the time.
Games will be played on a Sunday morning commencing at 10 a.m. and finishing at 12 noon. They will be played at Springburn Park.
On match days we would arrange to meet the children at North Kelvinside Pitches at 9 o’clock or at Springburn Park at 9.15.
On match days and at training sessions children should wear the NGFDG training top and t-shirt provided. Children should bring their football boots or trainers to assist them in their games.
If your child does not have a t-shirt or drill top they will soon be available at a cost of £2 for T-Shirts and £5 for Drill Tops. (This represents a subsidy of approximately 50% of cost).
Children involved in these 1998 age group matches will train on a Wednesday evening from January 2007 with venue and time to be confirmed. In the meantime it is strongly recommended that if your child wishes to be considered for the team that they should attend Sunday morning training sessions at NK pitches between 11am and 12.30.
