The NKU 97s had a tremendous 5-1 victory at Westerton today against Baljaffrey with goals from Steven, Jordan & Kevin. The 98s didn't do so well with a defeat against a very good Celtic side but still scored through Ali and Max and a great debut display in goals by Calvin.

The NKU 2000's once again showed how good a season they are having with and emphatic 7-0 win over Summerston with goals from Jack, Louis, John & Harry. They followed that up with a 2-1 voctory over EDFC Thistle with Louis & Harry again on the scoresheet.

The NKU 98s showed a big improvement with a close 6-5 victory with goals from Ali, Ray, Lee, Fintan & Keiran. The NKU99s had a 1-1 draw with Celtic with Louie the goalscorer. The NKU 97s had no game.

The NKU 2000's continued their excellent run of form with 3 good performances and 2 excellent wins. A 4-0 win over Baljaffrey and 5-0 win over West Park confirms just how well they are playing. Goals came from John, Lucas, David, Harry & Jack. Well Done Lads!

The NKU 1999's had a 4-4 draw with 2 goals from Ben and a goal each from Reegan & Cameron. The NKU 98's and 97's both had poor days with 7-2 (Stewart & Ali) and 6-2 (Steven & Robert) defeats respectively.

All 4 of the NKU teams were in action again yesterday which was great. There were some great performances all round.

The NKU 99's had an brilliant 8-0 win against Lenzie Colts with goals from Ross (3), Reegan (2),Jason,Ben and a 1st ever goal for Stuart Gilfillan. The NKU 97s had a great day too as they earned their first 11 a side win against Lenzie with a 3-2 win with goals from George, Steven and Jake with a man of the match performance from Joe in goals.

The NKU 2000s beat Celtic 3-0 with goals from Louis (2) and Jay followed by a close 4-3 defeat against EDFC Thistle with another 2 goals from Louis and 1 from Jack.

The NKU 98s had another dissappointing defeat. Coaches Dughall and Carl are working hard to improve the team and the message is clear that the boys need to do the same and keep working hard.

All 4 of the NKU teams were in action yesterday, the most successful of whom were once again the 2000s who won 2 matches and lost 1 despite Patrick the team manager being absent, so I am sure Coach Fin will be taking all the credit!

The 99s nearly turned a 5-1 deficit into a victory yesterday as tehy faught back to 5-4 with 2 goals each from Sean and Reegan before losing a late goal. The 98s had a day to forget with Stewart scoring their only goal in a 6-1 defaet to EDFC. Lastly the 97s had a great game in their first 11 a side match on a full side pitch with Goalkeeper Joe being the man of the match in a narrow defeat.

3 of the NKU teams were in action this morning as the 97s had their game called off late last night.

The 2000's drew 3-3 with EDFC with goals from Lucas, Jay and Harry and had 2 narrow losses to Baljaffrey and Summerston with goals from Louis and Lucas. Coaches Patrick and David felt that the boys played some great football and were very pleased despite the adverse results.

The 99s had a terrific match with an emphatic 4-1 win with goals from Ben, Reegan and a double from Jason. Well done lads! Unfortunatly the 98s didn't do so well as they lost to Rossvale without notching a goal.

2 of the NKU teams were in action yesterday as it was the 2000s turn to have a free week and the 98s game was called off. The 97s lost 6-3 in an excellent game with goals from Jason and Kevin and the 99s lost 4-2 in a close game.

3 of the NKU teams were in action yesterday as the 97s had a free week.

The 98s showed an inproved performance in going down 3-1 while the 99s had a poor day as they ran out 6-2 losers with Ben scoring both of our goals.

The 2000s had a mixed day with a good 4-1 win over Celtic and a dissappointing 5-2 reverse to Campsie.

The NKU teams returned to action yesterday after a longer than planned absence enforced by the poor weather.

The NKU 97's played their first ever 11 a side game and played well despite going down 4-2 with goals from Gordon Gow after good work on the left by Kevin Potts.

The NKU 98's and 99's both had days to forget. The 98's lost 7-1 with a consolation goal from Stewart Watt and the 99's lost 8-3 with 2 goals from Jason and 1 from Cameron.

Lastly, the NKU 2000's had a terrific 5-1 victory to start followed by a 1-1 draw and close 3-2 defeat. The goals were shared by John, Jack and Louis.

The NKU teams finished off 2008 with an incredible Saturday morning. All 4 kids teams recorded a victory on the same day, for the first ever time! A great effort!

Congratulations firstly to Dughall and Carl and their 99s team who won 4-2 Vs Lenzie with goals from Ali and Max on a terrible pitch. Well done lads! Similarly Pauline and Bobby's 97s won 2-1 in a mud bath with goals from Ross and Gordon against Milngavnie.

The 99s had an impressive draw against Celtic before beating Milngavnie 4-1 with goals from Cameron (3), Reagan and Louie! Coach Sat Uppal said it was the lads' best performance of the season.

Lastly, but definetly not least, the 2000s managed to end 2008 with a 2-2 draw followed by very impressive wins of 2-1 and 5-0! To say Patrick and David were happy is an understatement! Special mention goes to goalie Owen for keeping his concentration and his consistency over the season. Special praise also for the 2000s who brought in over £300 pounds at our recent sponsor event.

The NKU teams again struggled to complete fixtures this weekend due to the terrible weather, a problem which looks like it will continue.The 97s and the 2000s were the only teams to play games.

The 2000's had an oustanding weekend with 3 games played and 3 games won, 3-0, 3-1 & 3-0 were the results in their 3 games. Goals were scored by Louis, Lucas, John, David and Dylan. The 97s had a disappointing saturday with another narrow defeat, losing 4-3 with goals from Gordon, Jason and Ross and a Man of the match display from Gordon!

The NKU teams struggled to complete fixtures this weekend due to the terrible weather.In the end the 99s and the 2000s were the only teams to play games.

The 2000's lost 2 games before winning 2-0 in their 3 games. Well done to Louis Webster who scored his second hat trick! The 99s had an excellent 3-1 win and a 2-2 draw with Regan, Jason and Sean amongst the goals. Well done lads!

The 1998s are now ready to enter the league and played a friendly game with the 99s in midweek. We are still looking for 1 or 2 players though so if you are interested email info@ngfdg.co.uk.

The NKU teams continued their season's campaign on Saturday with a total of 6 games. The 2000's won 3-0, 6-2 and lost 2-1 in their 3 games. Well done to Louis Webster who scored a hat trick!

The 1999s won 5-1 against Milngavie before suffering a defeat against Celtic as the boys continue to improve under the hard tutelage of coaches Sat and Donny.

The 1997's won their first game of the season after losing their last 2 games by only one goal. They played very well to beat Westerton 4-1 with 2 goals from Gordon and 1 each from Jamie and Scott. Well done to Pauline & Bobby and the players!

Players from NKU 1997s team together with coaches Carl, Danya and Paul took part last weekend in the annual Great Scottish Run 3km race in order to raise club funds. Gordon was the first finisher for the 1997's and a special mention must go to Carl for finishing 22nd overall in his first race, a tremendous effort! The photos will be uploaded to the NKU section shortly.

The NKU 2000s, 1999s and 1997s have all begun their league campaigns this season, however the 1998s are still short of 2 players to complete their squad. So if you know anyone born in 1998 who would like to play for our football team please email info@ngfdg.co.uk.

The NKU teams started their season's campaign yesterday with a total of 6 games. The 2000's won 2-0, 1-0 and lost 1-0 in their 3 games, the 1999s drew 3-3 then suffered a narrow defeat in their second game and the 1997's lost out by 1 goal in a 7 goal thriller in their first 9 a side match. Well done to all the coaches and players involved!

The coaching and youth team details have been updated. North Kelvin United teams will play in the East Dunbartonshire Soccer Sevens Association this season which means games will now take place on Saturday mornings.
