I am sure I am not alone when I say that I was not heart broken to see a younger, better organised and motivated German team knock out England’s “Golden Generation” yesterday.
We all watch the Premiership and enjoy watching the great English players do their stuff. However, while being a good league the Premiership is not as good in terms of quality as Sky actually hype it up to be. At least 12 teams out of the 20 involved just want to survive relegation. Also, there is a massive percentage of foreign players and money talks; so young players must find it hard to get an opportunity and to develop.
Anyway, however good these players are, the bottom line is that you need to win it on the park. You win nothing by sitting in a studio, writing for a newspaper, or talking on a radio station and proclaiming that you have the best players, therefore you have the best team, therefore you are bound to win. Life, and in particular football, doesn’t work like that.
Its often said but its so true, we don’t actually hate the English or their players or their team, what we hate is the disproportionate media coverage which if far far far over the top!
